Post Graduate Courses

  1. Amr 702 Architectural & Urban Aesthetics

This is a course that I have been teaching in Cairo University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Architecture. Graduate students in the diploma take the course as AMR 513 and in the masters level as AMR 702. The course is currently offered as a core course in the Architectural Studies stream. It focuses upon the aesthetic principles, theories, methods, and applications in architecture and urban design. This website presents my portion of the course, which is co-taught. The COPYRIGHTS of the material in this course belongs to myself, the author, however I have allowed free access for everybody to use the material found in the website for teaching purposes only.

  1. Amr 602 Research Methods in Architecture & Urban Design

This is a course that I have been teaching in Cairo University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Architecture. Students in the diploma take the course as AMR 515 and in the masters level as AMR 602. The course is currently offered as an elective. It focuses upon basic research methods and their use and application in architecture and urban design. This website presents my portion of the course, which is co-taught. Undergraduate Courses

  1. Arch 570 Research Methods and Design

This was a course that I prepared and taught for three years (2000 - 2003) during my contract with the United Arab Emirates University. Students prior to or in conjunction with Graduation Project 1 would be required to take this course. It focuses upon basic research methods and their use in architecture and urban design. Partial funding for the preparation of the website was generously provided by a three week stipend from the Academic Sector of the United Arab Emirates University during 2000. The COPYRIGHTS of the material in this course belongs to myself, the author, however I have allowed free access for everybody to use the material found in the website for teaching purposes only.

  1. Ar 541 Professional Practice

This is a course that I have been teaching in the Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport, College of Engineering & Technology, Department of Architectural Engineering & Environmental Design. Students prior to or in conjunction with Graduation Project 1 would be required to take this course. It focuses on the professional side of the profession of architecture. The aim is to prepare students get ready to venture into the real job market of architecture. Free access to the course is allowed.

  1. Amr 206 Human Architectural Studies

This is a course that I have been teaching in Cairo University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Architecture. Students in the second term of the second year take the course. The course focuses upon basic principles of designing for human needs and introduces scientific research and applications of research methods in architecture and urban design. This website presents my portion of the course, which is co-taught. The COPYRIGHTS of the material in this course belongs to myself, the author, however I have allowed free access for everybody to use the material found in the website for teaching purposes only.  Free access to the course is allowed.
