Specifications concerning the restrictions that will enter into force on Wednesday 25. March 2020 for the next two weeks in Egypt:
– Air traffic stopping and school closing will continue for two weeks until April 15. th.
– Curfew will enter into effect between 19.00 and 6.00 pm.
– All traffic (both public and private) will be suspended between 19.00 and 6.00
– All stores and special stores will be closed between 17.00 and 6.00 pm and the whole weekend (Friday and Saturday). Home delivery for example restaurants / cafés are operating between 6 and 17 Home delivery pharmacies should still work normally.
– Shopping malls open under curfew, but closed all weekend.
– Pubs / bars and amusement parks are completely closed.
– State services, such as licensing services, will be closed. Employees will also be reduced from both public and private sectors starting on 1. April. This is not about healthcare staff.
– Limits will be strictly monitored and violation can result in fine (LE 4000) and possible imprisonment.
– The embassy urges you to keep your ID with you at all times.
More information on restrictions that will enter into force in Egypt for two weeks on Wednesday, March 25, 2020:
– Closure of air traffic and schools continues two weeks more to April 15
– Curfew will enter into force between noon. 19.00 and 6.00
– All traffic (both collective and private) is prohibited between noon. 19.00 and 6.00
– All stores are closed between noon. 17.00 and 6.00 and full weekends (Friday and Saturday). Home transport from restaurants / cafes works between 6.00 and 17.00. Home transport from pharmacy continues normally.
– Shopping centres are open in uniformity with curfew, but completely closed during the weekends.
– Pubs / bars and amusement parks are completely closed.
– Services are closed. Workers will also be dismissed both in the public and private sector from April 1 This is not true for healthcare professionals.
– Limitations will be strictly monitored and violations may result in fines (LE 4000) and potential detention.
– The Central Administration for international students urges to keep your ID card with you at all times.
